Star Citizen

Postby tropical_plague » Tue Jun 02, 2015 9:23 am

Romp's been pumping this game for a few years now but it's been hard to get too jazzed when the release is planned for many years in the future. But now that 2016 is getting close and the buzz videos are looking amazing, I am getting super interested.

Here are a few short videos worth checking out. This link starts in the middle of a great play list.

Thanks.

I think beej will love this as he is still into Quake-type things.

Glad to see dubstep will be featured.

Man, flying in space is a bitch. At first tried to tweak the controls so that I wouldn't completely forget how to fly a BF heli if I learned this new shit, but gave up on that for now and set everything back to default. So far I have got through a total of two of those rings in the race thingy before crashing and dying. I am enjoying how fucking hard it is, actually.

I'll let you knwo when I've got through 3 rings. ;)

Meanwhile Hardline is pretty much FC2, down to the 2008 graphics, but with better vehicles.

I didn't see a rocket launcher

This game don't look great to me, even with zero g you're still shooting dudes from across big open rooms, same gameplay as bf.

Okay. I was thinking the sci-fi setting and mechanics and dark enclosed spaceship spaces as differed from more 20th-21st century type stuff.

Well I'll agree there. But the level design in that vid looked very basic. I guess zero g effectively doubles the size of a level and makes things more complex though.

I'm a bit put off to the marketing tone of this game too. I mean was this vid directed at counterstrike players?
